INTRODUCTION:

 

Welcome to the fundraising page for CCCO.

 

Our church has taken on the huge task to renovate our property at 116 Empress. The church has been blessed to have this building and to gather in it with its three congregations. The Lord has blessed us in so many ways but to have this building has been, literally, the foundation for each congregation to minister to various people around Ottawa and especially here in Chinatown.

 

The building itself is quite old. It has been used by the Catholic Church as its gym facility for its school. The upstairs used to be the basketball court and the basement was a bowling alley. Now we use those spaces for worship. CCCO has been faithful in using and maintaining this building for all these years but we know that it is in much need of some updates.

 

We are hoping that the renovations can help update safety and accessibility issues such as installing a proper elevator, getting our fire system up to code, improving security, and increasing the overall function of our building. These changes will be necessary and they will also be costly.

• CCCO decided at AGM (Fall 2019) to remain in its current location

• Fundraising for the Building Fund began in 2021

• Church board decides in May 2022 to commit to raising $1 - 1.5 million in four years

• Total collected in 2022 - $300K
